Volunteer Tree Planting Day!
Saturday, October 9, 2010 (Rain date TBD)
9am-12pm
Berks County Leisure Area, Grings Mill Rec Center

 

 

Come help plant trees with the Berks Conservancy. We
provide all of the training and tools, we just need your
helping hands. Volunteers can make a huge difference by
helping to plant the trees. People will benefit from the trees for years to come.

What to Bring:
• Digging Shovel 
• Clothing you can afford to get dirty
• Drinking Water
• Rain gear if rain is threatening
• Closed-toed shoes
• Hat, sun screen, sunglasses
• Garden gloves

Antietam Nature Walk

Sunday, October 10th
10am-1pm

Come explore the new trail from Mount Penn to the county-owned Antietam Lake with the Berks Conservancy. This moderate to strenuous, educational hike will explore the Mt. Penn Gravity Railroad historic sites and Antietam Lake. You will also learn about the Conservancy’s efforts to sign and connect these and many other Greater Reading Trails.  Meet at Egleman’s Park on Hill Road. Approximately 7 miles round trip.
